Sony PlayStation 3 gets motion control, 3D

No one really expected Nintendo to come out ahead in the current generation consoles wars. The PS3 had better hardware all-around and, during its launch, it was the cheapest Blu-Ray player available too.

Now, Sony’s set to unleash its latest set of developments for the console – 3D capabilities and a new motion controller. Sony made the announcements at the start of the Tokyo Game Show,

The Japanese company showcased a new motion-controller wand dubbed the Move. The controller works in the same way as the Wii-mote.

Sony won’t be missing out on the 3D boom as well, announcing that the console will also have 3D capabilities, not only for gaming but for movie and video playback as well. The software update download will be made available September 21.
